The Indian Association Umm Al Quwain was founded in 1981 through an Amiri Decree, making it the only officially recognized Indian community organization in the emirate.

Since its establishment, the association has played a vital role in supporting Indian expatriates while strengthening the relationship between the Indian community and the UAE authorities.

Through decades of dedicated service, the organization has grown into a respected platform for cultural unity, charity work, and community engagement.


Charity and Welfare Activities

Charity and welfare services are at the heart of the Indian Association Umm Al Quwain.

One of the most notable contributions of the association was during the 2018 Kerala Floods, when it donated AED 300,000 to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund.

In addition, the association mobilized support from companies in Umm Al Quwain and successfully collected AED 700,000 for the same cause. Relief materials worth AED 200,000 were also sent to Kerala with the help of sponsors and community members.

This initiative demonstrated the strong humanitarian spirit of the Indian expatriate community in the UAE.


Free Medical Camps and Health Initiatives

The Indian Association Umm Al Quwain organizes free medical camps every year as part of its welfare activities.

A major medical camp held in 2018 was supported by:

  • Association of Kerala Medical Graduates UAQ-Ajman Chapter
  • Kerala Pharmacists Council UAE

Nearly 2,000 people from different nationalities attended the camp and received free medical consultations and medicines.

The camp was inaugurated by Sheikh Ahmed Bin Rashid Al Moalla, marking the celebration of the Year of Zayed.

In addition to medical camps, the association also offers:

  • Free blood sugar testing
  • Blood pressure checkups

These health services are conducted every second Friday of the month, supported by volunteer paramedics and nurses from the welfare wing.


Consular Services and Community Assistance

The Indian Association Umm Al Quwain provides consular-related services to the community in collaboration with the Consulate General of India, Dubai.

These services are available on alternate Fridays every month and assist residents with important documentation and consular support.

The association also conducts visits to local jails in Umm Al Quwain to help Indian nationals who require assistance. Support provided includes:

  • Arranging out passes
  • Providing legal guidance
  • Helping with repatriation procedures

The association also extends assistance to families by helping repatriate mortal remains of deceased individuals to their hometowns in India.


Academic Excellence Awards

Encouraging education is another key mission of the Indian Association Umm Al Quwain.

Every year, the association presents Academic Excellence Awards to students who achieve outstanding results in:

  • CBSE 10th and 12th Board Examinations
  • Kerala State Board Examinations
  • SSLC Examinations

Top-performing students from Indian schools in the emirate are recognized and honored for their academic achievements.


Cultural and Community Celebrations

The Indian Association Umm Al Quwain regularly organizes events celebrating both Indian and UAE national days.

These celebrations include:

  • Indian Independence Day
  • Republic Day
  • UAE National Day
  • Community gatherings and cultural festivals

These programs encourage community members and families to participate in cultural activities, strengthening the bond between expatriates and their heritage.


Amnesty Programme Support

The association also played a prominent role during the UAE Amnesty Programme, assisting individuals from India and other nationalities.

A special help desk was opened to guide people who wanted to benefit from the amnesty scheme, helping them with documentation and procedures.

This initiative was widely appreciated for supporting residents facing immigration difficulties.


Cultural Training Programs for Children

To encourage cultural development among younger generations, the Indian Association Umm Al Quwain offers training programs such as:
