The Indian Association of Ajman was officially established in 2001, under an Amiri Decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member of the United Arab Emirates and the Ruler of Ajman.

The association was formed with the primary objective of serving the Indian expatriate community, providing support services, and maintaining close coordination with Missions, Embassies, Consulates, and other expatriate organizations. Additionally, it aims to uphold and promote the rich cultural heritage of India, while fostering harmony and mutual understanding between the UAE and India.

Operating strictly as a non-profit, non-political and non-religious organization, it works towards strengthening the relationship between UAE nationals and various expatriate communities living in Ajman and nearby Emirates.

🔹 Services & Contributions

The Association actively provides:

  • Passport renewal services for Indian nationals irrespective of where their passports were issued

  • Attestation and various miscellaneous Indian Consular services

  • Receiving & facilitating UAE visa applications

In recognition of its efficient service execution, the Consulate General of India has authorized the Association to conduct Consular Services every Friday at the Association premises.

The Indian Association of Ajman is also highly committed to charity and humanitarian work, frequently honored by local authorities, Indian missions, and dignitaries for its impactful contributions.

Its major social services include:

  • Visits to local government hospitals, jails, police stations, and detention centers

  • Assistance in labor dispute resolutions

  • Sponsoring free air tickets for jailed expatriates returning home

  • Offering free medical aid to community members through volunteer doctors


🔹 Governance Structure

  • The Association is led by 50 Founder Members who oversee major administrative decisions.

  • A 15-member Managing Committee, elected from among the Founder Members, manages daily operations.

  • Three additional members from the Life Member category join the Managing Committee through a draw-based selection.


🔹 Membership

Currently, the Indian Association Ajman has 700 registered members, categorized as:

  • 50 Founder Members

  • 50 Associate Members

  • 600 Life Members
