Sabu Varghese – Visionary Leader & Managing Director
From Humble Beginnings to Construction Excellence
Mr. Sabu Varghese, Managing Director of High Star Contracting LLC, is one of the most respected Malayali entrepreneurs in the UAE’s construction sector. A native of Devalokam, Kottayam, Kerala, he belongs to Parangottu House.
After completing AMIE in Civil Engineering, he moved to Dubai in 1976, beginning his career as a Site Engineer at Al Ashram Contracting Company. He worked his way up to become Project Manager, before joining Golden Falcon Contracting for five years. In 1994, he co-founded High Star Contracting, which now employs over 400 professionals, including 14 engineers.
Personal Life
Mr. Sabu Varghese is married to Mrs. Gigi Sabu, a postgraduate in Social Science and former employee at Ministry of Health, Dubai. They have two daughters:
- Sherin Sabu – M.Tech in Software Engineering, settled in Singapore, married to Venu George (BE), working with Standard Chartered Bank
- Merin Sabu (MDS) – Married to Joe Alen (MD), both practicing in the UK
Mr. Varghese is also known for his deep faith, church involvement, and numerous charitable activities. In his leisure time, he enjoys sports, reading, and watching TV.
