George V Nereaparampil: Visionary Chairman of GEO Group

Every success story carries a quiet rhythm—an undercurrent shaped by discipline, early struggles and an unwavering focus. George V Nereaparampil, Chairman & Managing Director of the GEO Group of Companies, embodies that rhythm. His journey from a young boy assisting his father’s small business to becoming a global industry leader is both compelling and instructive.

An Early Start That Set the Foundation

By the age of seven, George was already immersed in the workings of his family business. This early exposure became his informal business school—teaching him patterns, people and possibilities. These observations later crystallized into the entrepreneurial spirit that powered his global ventures.

After completing his technical education, he moved to Sharjah in 1976 as an automobile mechanic. What many saw as just another job, he saw as a vantage point—a place where the region’s growing need for cooling solutions quietly revealed itself.

The Birth of a Cooling & Power Empire

In 1977, driven by intuition and grit, he founded Air Condition and Refrigeration Products and Power Solutions Services in Sharjah. What began as a modest operation quickly grew, fueled by the Gulf’s rising demand for efficient cooling.

The next milestone came with the creation of GEO Electricals Trading & Contracting Co. LLC, dealing in major global brands and later earning ISO certification. The GEO Group steadily evolved into an international provider of rental cooling and power solutions, supporting:

  • Major GCC markets
  • Leading corporate facilities
  • Global events and exhibitions

Over 900 international events have relied on GEO Group’s cooling systems—ranging from Air Shows and Ruler’s Palaces to Saddam Hussein’s Palace in Iraq, Dubai Metro (RTA) projects, and the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.

Meanwhile, in India, the group launched GEONAIR, an export-oriented manufacturing unit for large-tonnage water-cooled centrifugal chillers. The company is expected to release its first batch of products shortly.

A Painful Memory That Sparked a Historic Contribution

In 1977, George faced a moment of helplessness when he could not reach Kerala in time for his father’s funeral due to the lack of direct flights to Cochin. This personal loss stayed with him like an unfinished sentence.

Years later, when the opportunity arose to bring the Cochin International Airport Ltd. (CIAL) into reality, he stepped forward—purchasing a major share of the unsold stock and becoming the largest single shareholder and a Director. This pivotal act helped transform CIAL into one of the most successful airports in India, benefiting millions of Keralites working abroad.

A Legacy of Philanthropy and Social Impact

George’s contributions extend far beyond business:

  • Significant support to charitable trusts and social organizations in Kerala
  • Trustee of the CIAL Charitable Trust
  • Director of several healthcare institutions
  • Major shareholder and guiding force in a super speciality hospital
  • Director of Cochin Kalabhavan, where he nurtures emerging artists
  • Owner of Georgettan’s Ragam, one of Thrissur’s finest cinema halls

These initiatives form a mosaic of service—each project shaped by empathy as much as entrepreneurship.

A Vision for Kerala’s Future

Among his most ambitious dreams is a transformative infrastructure project:
interconnecting Kerala’s major rivers and lakes through a centralized canal, supported by a three-lane road and an intercity super-fast rail system.

The idea reflects a blend of imagination and practicality—an attempt to redraw Kerala’s geography for the future.

Family and Personal Roots

George hails from Nereaparampil House, Mannampetta, Thrissur—a place woven with heritage and earthy values.

His wife, Molly George, plays a central role in the GEO Group, managing HR and daily operations.
Their daughters:

  • Geni Cybee, married to Cybee Paul (Emirates Airlines engineer)
  • Gemi, a commerce graduate and Finance Manager at GEO Group

Their son Geon George, currently pursuing his graduation, also contributes as Assistant Manager.

The family stands together not as bystanders, but as co-architects of the group’s legacy.
