Mr O Y Ahamed Khan is the president of Indian Association Ajman which is associated to the Consulate General if India, Dubai. Belongs to Pattalam, Fort Kochi, Ernakulam, Mr Khan is the owner of Khan’s Timber Mart. Mr Khan is also a member of Indian Community Welfare Committee (ICWC). Born in a business family, Mr Khan is a graduate in English literature. He is a badminton player, who is also interested in reading and travelling. He has been in the trading of timber woods for 7 years.
Mr Khan started his career in 1978 as the assistant store keeper in National Bank of Abu Dhabi. In 1979 he joined the First Gulf Bank as telex operator. Later Mr Khan joined the National Bank of Dubai. An active social worker, Mr Khan is honoured with Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award from the World Friendship Council. He has also received the Appreciation Award from the Ministry of Interior Ajman for excellent relations and morale with the local community and expatriates. He has received the excellent performer award from the Dubai Police as well.
Mr Khan is married to Mrs Salma Jabeen Ahamed. The couple has three children, Ms Sameera Ahamed, Mr Shahid Ahamed and Mr Vazir Ahamed.
