Mr George V Nereparambil is the founder of Geo Group of Companies, one of the largest business firms in the Middle East. But he is much recognised as the man behind the Cochin International Airport Ltd. (CIAL). Born in a traditional business family in Thrissur, he was helping his father run the business of trading cash crops. In 1976 he came to the Middle East. Realising the scope of a business in cooling solutions in the hot climate of the UAE, he started the business of trading and maintenance of air conditioners and spare parts in 1977.
In 1984 he expanded his company by setting up Geo Electrical Trading and Contracting Company which deals in all brands of air conditioners and its spare parts. Apart from these they offer rental cooling and power solutions in the UAE. Being a true visionary Mr George further diversified his business activities with the encouragement of the rulers of the UAE.
Today Geo Group is an ISO certified company that provides quality products and services to the customers. Geo Group has provided cooling and power solutions for the Indian Navy, 2010 Commonwealth Games, air shows in Dubai, the RTA Metro Rail etc. Over 34 years in the cooling and power solutions industry, Geo Group is a main challenger for multinational companies in the Middle East. Realising the potency of Geo Group, three major multinational companies have approached for joint venture. Negotiations are going on for the alliance.
For Mr George, business is in his blood and he thoroughly enjoys it. He is ready to take on the challenges facing in business. According to Mr George, impossible is possible through dedication and hard work. And he has proved this true by making the Cochin International Airport a reality. CIAL is the first Public Private Participation (PPP) model airport in India.
Mr George is the director and shareholder of a super speciality hospital and some healthcare projects in India. He has also made contributions for the development and promotion of film industry by promoting young talents at the Cochin Kalabhavan Studios in his directorial ventures. He also owns the Ragam cinema theatre at Trichur. He has promoted a 100 per cent Export Oriented Unit (EOU) in India that manufactures air conditioners and water chillers. Now he is working on a new project in India to manufacture large tonnage, water-cooled centrifugal chillers. The first of its kind is expected to hit the markets very soon. The products are branded as Geon Air.
Behind his dynamic personality, there is a philanthropist in him who is keen on humanitarian activities. He has contributed enormously to various social causes and charitable organisations in Kerala. He was also nominated as the trustee of the charitable trust set up by the CIAL.
Being a committed family man, Mr George owes all his success and achievement to his wife Mrs Molly George who gives him the moral support. She is also in charge of the HRD. The couple has two daughters and a son. The eldest daughter Ms Geni Cybee is married to Mr Cybee Paul and has two children. The younger daughter Miss Gemi George is the finance manager of Geo Group. His son Mr Geon George is working as assistant manager in rental division.
